Hello Bananafish,
How is self to be felt now?
The self is a collection of memories. The self is a projection into the future.
The self cannot be felt; it is a thinking process.

Best wishes,
Sasha

Thanks. :)

Now, how does it feel to see that?
Do you feel any different from when we started this conversation?

Warm wishes,

There is no feeling of difference. It is hard to explain: there is no detectable change.
There are thoughts that there may be just an intellectual understanding and it hasn’t percolated yet into being.
The expected idiosyncrasies are in place. :)) The seeker mode is in place with more doubting and questioning and less intensity, more detached observing. The background cold, empty indifference is more, even if outwardly there are usual emotional activities and outbursts.

Warm wishes,
Sasha

Could you elaborate a bit?

Hello Bananafish,

Detached observing is only in thinking as well as the seeker mode. There is not much to say. The cold and empty background is cold and empty and is a background only when you say it.

Best wishes,
Sasha

Hi Sasha. :)

Do you still feel that there is something called "self" that is separate from
everything else?

Warm regards,

Bananafish

Hello Bananafish,
Do you still feel that there is something called "self" that is separate from everything else?
In thinking it is a prevalent story: my life, my body, my this, my that; things happen to me, an individual, a separate self. At the same time, there is no sensing of a separate self as an entity.

Best wishes,
Sasha

Hi Sasha. :)

Would you say that the search is over, and there's nothing more you
want to further inquire?

Warm wishes,

Bananafish

I don’t know, there is nothing; I cannot think of any question.)

Here you go. :) Enjoy!

1) Is there a separate entity 'self', 'me' 'I', at all, anywhere, in any way, shape or form? Was there ever?

2) Explain in detail what the illusion of separate self is, when it starts and how it works from your own experience. Describe it fully as you see it now.

3) How does it feel to see this? What is the difference from before you started this dialogue? Please report from the past few days.

4) What was the last bit that pushed you over, made you look?

5) Describe decision, intention, free will, choice and control. What makes things happen? How does it work? What are you responsible for? Give examples from experience.

6) Anything to add?

Hello Bananafish,
1) Is there a separate entity 'self', 'me' 'I', at all, anywhere, in any way, shape or form? Was there ever?
Me, self, I – they come in thinking, they live in thinking. There is nothing to deny or confirm. The question of time (was there ever) appears only in thinking.
2) Explain in detail what the illusion of separate self is, when it starts and how it works from your own experience. Describe it fully as you see it now.
It starts in thinking. It starts with I, Mine, Me. It simply unfolds and then disappears. It is and it is not. The idea of a separate self as well as the idea that there is no separate self are both ideas and start and end in thinking.
3) How does it feel to see this? What is the difference from before you started this dialogue? Please report from the past few days.
It doesn’t feel that much different. Before the dialogue there was eagerness for knowledge for information. Now there is interest for what is, for what comes and goes.
4) What was the last bit that pushed you over, made you look?
I don’t know, I don’t perceive any change. There is no feeling that something has happened. There is no before and after.
5) Describe decision, intention, free will, choice and control. What makes things happen? How does it work? What are you responsible for? Give examples from experience.
Decision happens, it just appears as a natural continuation; it comes. Intention is more subtle, but they are quite close. Free will – I don’t know what that is, some idea of which there are many)). Choice happens as a natural continuation. Control is of the I, Me, Mine, striving for a particular result. Things happen as a natural continuation of what they are. I don’t know how it works. I may say that I am responsible for everything or for nothing; or I simply don’t know.
6) Anything to add?
For now, there is nothing. If something comes later, I’d like to share.))

Best wishes,
Sasha

Hi Sasha. :)

Do you feel like further continuing the dialogue?
Is there anything you feel stuck at?

Please tell what you intend by telling "there is nothing."

Warm wishes,

Bananafish
