Good morning Birdman,
When I am Aware (and that is by no means always the case) there are no thoughts, no object and no experiencer - just one whole happening with no division.
Excellent. This is what i was hoping that you could see. Of course, don't get sucked into thinking that being aware is separate from the experiencing. It is just a word that describes...
What I mean is that Awareness is always there but not in the foreground
Yes. Awareness as a verb. Not a noun. A verb as part of experiencing. An adjective when we talk about it.
Can you see this ?

As a parenthesis I must tell you about an event that happened a couple of days ago when driving. Btw, driving (in the countryside) is my best meditative mode. Contemplating "I am", while driving along alone on the road, there suddenly was as a demasking of the whole existence. It was as if the All dropped its cloak and showed itself as it was. "This NOW was definitely only It". Deepest and safest peace and rest... Seconds after a different seeing happened, I saw all as it was in "reality" but as some work of art, a painting maybe...
I was completely sober, not influenced by any chemicals whatsoever ;-)
I know what you are going to say... No, this is not something that I strive for or see as particularly valuable. But it was one of the most beautiful experiences that has ever happened to this illusory "me".

Yours Birdman

I know what you are going to say...
Ha, you are right about that... But, but my first response is to say "Wonderfull"
These are valuable moments, but they are a side dish. Not the main course.
Although it seems to lack the profundity, it is the ordinariness if the main course that stands out.
i say 'ordinary', but i don't mean that it lacks anything. Perhaps 'normal' is a better word - except that it's not the old normal.
Story is, that as humans, our wonder full organisms delegate repetitive behavior to automatic mode. (habits) So it doesn't take much before we can do something without awareness. So our minds occupy themselves in a way that you are familiar with. ...and of course, this is where we lose touch with what is actual and start to live in total fantasy.

Per, would you say that you clearly see through the delusion of an actual self ?

Dear Vince!

Re. verb/noun: Yes absolutely, "Awaring" happens. More and more often. From sitting up in bed in the morning to falling asleep. What is helpful is taking a deep yoga-breath and slowly, during exhaling and concentrating on the feeling "I am" sinking wordlessly deeper and deeper into What is.
I thought I´d never be able to say this, and at this time in my life; Yes, given that there are words, language and sometimes deep conditioning, I can honestly say that "little me" (actual self) is unmasked. Much less chatter, judging and reactiveness and when it happens it´s immediately seen. Notice it also when mirrored in other humans that are still imprisoned by their "me" or "self", totally owned by opinions and concepts.
Given that there´s no beginning or end as such, these new insights are as pressing the "reset button" on an old wilful computer. It´s the same old machine but with a clean new RAM and no preconceived notions...

Hugs from
Birdman
