Re: ja
Hi Bananafish,
there's something I have noticed quite a long time ago, but keep forgetting.
Every time I pay attention to it, "my" thoughts have "my" voice, even in silence.
Maybe I should mention that I often think out loud or whisper to myself, even though I'm not quite that old :)
My kids often laugh about it but I don't care. I like it for some reason.
I don't know if the thought voice-over is always there, or if the right kind of attention somehow creates
this effect. Normally I don't notice it.
When noticed, the thoughts seem very close and personal.
If it's always like this, the thoughts then maybe always seem very close and personal.
I don't know if it's something significant or not, so I thought I'd write about it just in case. I assume it's very common, there must be a reason for expressions like "self-talk"...
All the best,
J.

Re: ja
Hi Jaro. :)
My honest impression of what you wrote was that it has nothing to
do with the inquiry.
Could we do some experiment on noticing?
Please notice your breath; notice it without trying to notice;
but don't try not to notice it. :)
And when it is noticed, just let the noticing be there; without
trying to sustain or to trying to notice the noticing.
Hope this conveys something.
Warm wishes,
Bananafish

Re: ja
Hi Jaro. :)
The point here is to notice the breath, and also notice when
you're trying to do something with the breath.
Just being with it is another way to put it.
But careful not to "try" to be with it.
Notice that "trying."
Please give it another "try."
Warm wishes,
Bananafish

Re: ja
Sure. It's pretty standard. Procrastination, finding other things "I have" to do and so on. General tendencies to avoid what you suggested, even though this process is really super important to me.
I hope getting back to work went smooth and was enjoyable!

Re: ja
Thanks Jaro. :)
Ok, when there is procrastination, notice it without trying to notice nor
trying not to notice; just notice, and don't hope for the noticing to last.
Warmly,
Bananafish
