Refuting the me

Postby Miron » Thu Oct 25, 2018 5:15 pm

LU is focused guiding for seeing there is no real, inherent 'self' - what do you understand by this?
The self is a mere mental concept not actual.

What are you looking for at LU?
To understand that there is no actual self this all I am looking for, to end the seeking I don't know why this has to be 200 characters this is actually all about Understanding and apperception that there is no me

What do you expect from a guided conversation?
I expect an understanding and clarity that there is no me or self, to expose my concept to the burning fire cause I no longer capable of carrying them anywhere I expect that this will end my seeking and my mental confusion.

What is your experience in terms of spiritual practices, seeking and inquiry?

I didn't find a significant amount of improvement after meditation my negative thoughts and depression would always prevail leaving me with more frustration, resting as awareness or Iamness is futile too iam not even sure that I understand what tha means,
Self inquiry and understand that all are mere mental concept helped me drop a massive amount of my beliefs leaving me with much clarity, I resonated a lot with Nisargadatta maharaj later talks one of them is that all there is is the total manifestation functioning and there is no entity or doer independent from the totality, which is mere conceptual.

On a scale from 1 to 10, how willing are you to question any currently held beliefs about 'self?

Hi Miron. :) My name is Bananafish, one of the guides here.
I'd be more than glad to help you, if it's ok for you.

Thank you for the introduction, and you wrote in it that you expect
an exposure of your concept.

What is your concept regarding the self?
In short, what do you believe yourself to be?

I'd be glad if we could start from these questions.

Looking forward to your reply!

Hi Bananafish! Iam really looking forward to chat with you.

It s tricky question I know conceptually that I cannot pin point what I am but still maybe deep down or subconsciously there is strong belief that Iam this person who is trapped with heavy feelings of depression and want a relief or an end to psychological suffering By refuting all conceptual notions and beliefs,
Although when I look I see that there is only depression no experiencer.

How do you perceive a belief being deep down?
Is it imagined?

Is it something more than just a thought?

By interpreting my stream of thoughts and actions , all I think and do is compensate by concepts and distractions although I can't be sure if there is really there, well Its a thought right now I can't prove otherwise.
Thank you.

Are 'mine' and 'my' the "product" of labelling, or labels themselves?
What about the "I?"

Yeah they are labels, 'I' is another label too. They describe and label experiences.
Thank you.

What experience does the label "I" describe?

Yes, “I” is a label for no particular experience.

How does it feel to see this?

Best wishes,
