Is there a self, in the sense of "me"?

Well I suppose that’s the problem because the sense of me sporns a sense of self but there’s no actual self only a sense of one.

So
..
Where is this sense of self located? Can you find it?
Keep looking, and we will explore further tomorrow.

Well the sense of self just goes on popping up as a dumb happening which means it imust be a kind of mute thought somehow. It’s not located anywhere and as such is not found.
Thanks so much for your time today...as always I’m so grateful, Sioned. X🙏🏻Yes, speak tomorrow.

Good Morning, Deborah!
So... is it correct to say that, although you can't actually find a self when you look, there's a vague sense still of there being one "somewhere"?

Morning!
Yes, that’s it! Been reading the Gateless Gatecrashers as well and that helps .
Been noticing thoughts, ‘selfing ‘, sensing but still not really free viscerally but it’s getting clearer.x

Also when in the ‘past’ I’d do something or say something and then claim it I am now noticing when that’s done and remember there’s no self or I or better look and see.

Great, you're doing really well, Deborah.

Are you ready for another exercise? Or do want to pause a bit? (either is fine by me)

Have walked the dog so am free relaxing now! Another exercise would be great. You can see that in my registration putting 10 for readiness was definitely the case! 😂Thanks

Of course you may need to pause so don’t feel pressured by your zealous student!

I like that you're zealous!
And I'm currently pondering what might be helpful for you as a next step...

Just noticed that I didn't respond to this a few days ago.
You said:
it said that the I am is the first expression of the Absolute. In a way as soon as the mouth of the Absolute opens, in an absolute sense,
I want to encourage you to drop this sort of theoretical stuff if you can, at least for the time being, as it's really an expectation, isn't it? A thought about how things might be perceived if and when.... Theorising and expectations aren't helpful in this investigation, as you know, now, it's all about seeing what's actually there in direct experience.... does that make sense?
more shortly!

Yes, totally get that and I thought you might say something about it. Knee jerk thinking. So much learned stuff, more labels and thoughts which are not helpful. Yes, thanks for pointing it out.

Just posted you a reply only to lose it!
Hey-ho!
Ok, I think it could be a helpful point to pause and revisit expectations anyway.

As Ilona says:
All expectations, no matter what you expect is not what it is going to be like. Anytime you feel stuck, come back to expectations, if there is something that you think that should be happening, but it isn't- there is an expectation behind it. They are not useful but in the way.

I don't feel you're stuck, not at all, but I think there may be some degree of expectations and beliefs there even so.
Ask yourself - what are you expecting life to look like once you truly "get" that there is no self? How will that feel? What will you "know"? What difference will it make?

Take some time now to have a look at this, and then let me know what you notice.
