There is not and never was a separate self anywhere, in any shape or form. The illusion of self is the feeling of being the experiencer, separate from experience and to which experience happens. Yet upon inspection, this experiencer is nowhere to be found apart from experience itself. There is experience, but no “one” to which it happens. To feel this is to simply relax and let everything be as it is. It feels free of worry or concern. This understanding has been manifesting in me gradually, but it feels now that I can be completely happy regardless of what my life circumstances are. Before, I was much more attached to whether or not things were going well in my life. For example, I fear the death of my loved ones a lot less than I used to. I learned through repeatedly trying and failing to see through the illusion of self that I couldn’t do anything about it, and gave up, which helped push me into the understanding that there was no I that could do or not do anything anyway. Decision/intention/choice continue to arise and continue to feel as though it’s done by me unless I pay closer attention. I don’t believe in free will or control, as there’s no controller. Everything just spontaneously happens and is known from the inside. There is no you to be responsible for anything. There are all statements that I first believed and then understood conceptually, but I now feel them to be true.

It’s hard to say how life has changed. I generally feel more at peace, but the biggest thing is that I no longer feel there is any crucial insight I haven’t seen in my meditation practice. I am also less ambitious than I used to be.

Not sure exactly what you mean by this question, but I have now had the experience maybe 100 times of feeling literally completely inseparable from everything else around me over the past few years- hope this answers it.

Nothing happens to me.

Everything continues to happen anyway.

I am the present moment now. I feel this.

I can’t describe it.

This seems to me to be the same question as asking for my relationship to the present moment. I am experience itself.

How are you going to help "others" to go through the illusion of a separate self?

This may be a tough one. It isn’t something anyone can really “do” (or not do). I’ve tried many different things in different directions and seeing that there wasn’t anything I could do eventually let me just be. I also found that listening to many different people who seemed to understand this (Sam Harris, Alan Watts, Adyashanti, Joseph Goldstein, etc) helpful because I was able to intuit the commonality in what they were trying to point at. Maybe I could be one more voice for someone seeking.

How could I not know? This is the only thing I am really sure of. Knowledge is not the best term, but all words fail here.
