LU is focused guiding for seeing there is no real, inherent 'self' - what do you understand by this?
I understand that there is no self and I don't understand that there is no self.
There is something in between which I seem not to get.
I feel this is really something that I want to find out in my life.
I have always wondering why things are as they are.
And wondering where life is about.
What are you looking for at LU? To release the concept of self.
To connect with oneness.
To understand where life is about.
To meet others who are going to the same process.
For a community who is supporting each other.
To find help and support <3
What do you expect from a guided conversation?
I feel this is the exact right timing for me (my name is Corona) to dive into this.
During these times and also since I have the space and time to dive into it.
I quite my management job and I am currently in Sweden surrounded by amazing nature and not so many distractions.
What I would expect form a guide is to hold me accountable when maybe the ego wants to run away, or actually stay ;) and to be there when I have questions.
What is your experience in terms of spiritual practices, seeking and inquiry?
Meditation, Yoga, Breathing exercises
InnerGuidance https://www.amarasamata.com/
Did one Vipassana meditation 10 days
Did three times ayahuasca
Ecstatic dance, cacao ceremonies
On a scale from 1 to 10, how willing are you to question any currently held beliefs about 'self?

Re: Breaking through the illussion on seperation | Corona from the Netherlands
Hi John
How i understand and see myself is that I have a body, thoughts etc. but that in the essence I am not that.
I am one with something bigger, with oneness itself.
I might have a mission on this earth in this time, but I also feel that this might be not true and something the ego wants to believe.
I feel there is something way bigger than the I and the EYE can see. And at the same time something way simpler and smaller ;)
I also feel that there is no right and no wrong but that this are just labels we put on, that we received from society but that everything in essence is pure love.

Hiya,
In practical everyday terms, rather that what might be the case, where are YOU located?
Thank you,
John

I wasn't very clear in my question. :) I'm in the UK by the way.

Do you have an everyday you that you take yourself to be?
If so, tell me about the everyday you.
Is it a story, or does it have a physical location?

it is a story - everything is a story.
But on the other hand I am also living right now in this life and tying these words with a physical body/form.

If everything is a story, then isn't that too a story?

Re: Breaking through the illussion on seperation | Corona from the Netherlands
I feel that there is no self. That all is one.
That I am just a representation in the physical body of something bigger.
But my mind feels very attached to the person"corona" and the physical body and life I have.
In that way I don't understand that there could be no self.
Thank you John!!

Re: Breaking through the illussion on seperation | Corona from the Netherlands
I feel that there is no self. That all is one.
That I am just a representation in the physical body of something bigger.
This sounds to me like an intuition of being, let's just say, a natural human being reading this with no name, nor in need of one.
But my mind feels very attached to the person"corona" and the physical body and life I have.
And this persona Corona - I like the rhyme :D - is the experience what is often termed, a self, or my self.
In that way I don't understand that there could be no self.
There are two things going on here which get conflated. Let's seperate them out.
The self we take ourselves to be, for example Corona/John, is an effective, conditioned perception eco-system. It's often called a story, but it's way more sophisticated than Winnie-the-Pooh. :)
And then, sometimes, self is equated with being - forgetting that's it a perception eco system - and we go, oh no, no self means no being, I won't be able to do anything, I'll be a hollow life-just-happens automaton. Not saying you say that, but it's a common misconception.
So, we can say that when we talk about self, we're talking about a personified perception eco-system called Corona/John. It's a show, an impression, a coat we wear that's become who we are.
Which has nothing to do with the human being reading this. Other than, the human being reading this THINKS they are an autonomous 'being called Corona'.
It's late here so going to sleep :) but share what you take from the above.
Night,
John

Re: Breaking through the illussion on seperation | Corona from the Netherlands
Thank you John! I think I understand what you mean.
Corona/John is the story / the coat about a self.
The human being or "no self" is not the story or the persona - but it just thinks it is that.
