Hi Vivien,
So where is the mind? Where is its exact location?
I can't find a mind. There is no location. I didn't get as much time as I would like to have had to explore this today. I did have the experience of sensation and then thought laid on top.

Thanks
Nicky

Hi Nicky,

Now let’s look into if there is control over memories.

Sit quietly, close your eyes, and choose a memory to come up, and inquire:

How do you choose which memory to come up?

Is there a storage place where all your memories are stored, and you go there and pick and choose which memory to think of?

How do you make the visual thoughts of that particular memory to show up?

Does that image stay or it shift into something else?

Can you hold onto that one particular image?

Can you intentionally or willingly let go of a visual thought?

And when there is a shift, what do you do in order to that visual thought shift into another?

Can you catch the exact moment when the one visual thoughts change into another one?

Repeat this exercise several times before replying.

The memories just arose spontaneously. It doesn't feel like there is a place where memories are stored they just appear in awareness.
How do you make the visual thoughts of that particular memory to show up?
I'm not sure most feel like they just appear. A few it felt like a thought could connect to a certain memory.
Does that image stay or it shift into something else?
The image changes often just like thoughts.
Can you hold onto that one particular image?
No they are transient coming and going.
Can you intentionally or willingly let go of a visual thought?
It feels like the trying to get rid holds it in place. The visual thoughts shift automatically.
And when there is a shift, what do you do in order to that visual thought shift into another?
They are moving themselves like clouds in the sky.
Can you catch the exact moment when the one visual thoughts change into another one?
I can't actually it's like a seamless flow.

Thanks
Nicky

Hi Nicky,

You are repeatedly saying that “it feels like”… but we are not looking at how things ‘feels like’ or ‘seems like’, rather we are looking at the FACTS of reality. How things ACTUALLY ARE.

And not how they seem to be… of feels to be...

So I would like to ask you to redo the exercise a few more times…
But write only what you can say with 100% certainty… how things actually are when you look at experience.

It’s very important that you write only what you can experientially see clearly, and not from intellectual conclusions. If you write your intellectual conclusions, then I might draw a false impression. Since I base my questions on your comments, so it’s very important that you write only what you can see in experience. Or if something is just logic, then always comment on it. Otherwise, I might think that you can see something, while you can’t.

Sit quietly, close your eyes, and choose a memory to come up, and inquire:

How do you choose which memory to come up?
Is there a storage place where all your memories are stored, and you go there and pick and choose which memory to think of?
How do you make the visual thoughts of that particular memory to show up?

Hi Vivien,

My apologies for not being in touch. We are in lockdown here with coronavirus and I have been feeling unwell for the past few days. I meant to message you to let you know. Is it okay if I reply properly in a couple of days?

Best wishes
Nicky
