I think the self is all that exists, and we as humans are choosing to experience our one consciousness subjectively. Where is it? I guess it would be everywhere all the time. .......Is that what u where asking?

This process is about experiencing, not theory or second hand knowledge.

Sorry for the VERY late response. (connection problems) Sorry I don't know what you mean when u say core self. I guess I feel closest to myself in stillness and quietness and if I shut my ego off. But that seems to be very difficult. (I have only been there a hand full of times.)

Look for it. No second hand knowledge.

dont' make too big a deal out of it.
It doesn't take time to see your hand if you look.
Put your hands behind your back.
Now LOOK and see if you can see them. Notice how you mind wants to deny the looking with thoughts. But do it anyway and watch the thoughts.
Now put your hands in front of your face and Look again. Notice how thoughts still want to interfere.
Experience the SEEING as you see your hands.
Now look for the 'I' again using the physicality of seeing and dismiss thoughts as not required here.
Take only as much time as to took to see your hands.
Report what you found or didn't.

I see myself, but oddly enough I'm younger standing alone with nothing around. I didn't see much else.

Hi Dan, sorry about the delay - had broken internet here.
We could speculate what this represents (younger = more innocent, nothing around = without the build up of story to represent the world) But probably no mileage in it.
When you say "oddly enough.." it Does show a portal into somewhere.
Do the exercise again and See if it is different.
Remember - watch your thought processes as you do this.
