Subject or Object or neither

Postby Forelise » Thu Nov 21, 2019 4:26 pm

LU is focused guiding for seeing there is no real, inherent 'self' - what do you understand by this?
I don't really know what the difference is between I and (my)self.

What are you looking for at LU?
Maybe I'll get more clarity here? I've read some books and Internet - sites about enlightenment. . But practice and theory are far apart. If, for example, I sit still - without following anything in particular as required by some instructions, such as zazen - all these books are completely irrelevant.

What do you expect from a guided conversation?
What interests me most is what the term enlightenment is all about. What is it about which so much is written or spoken? Do I already know that without knowing it? Why is there so much fuss about it? Does enlightenment exist at all?

What is your experience in terms of spiritual practices, seeking and inquiry?
I've read some books about. But practice and theory are far apart.

On a scale from 1 to 10, how willing are you to question any currently held beliefs about 'self?

Hallo, Forelise!

Herzlich willkommen!
I've read some books and Internet - sites about enlightenment. . But practice and theory are far apart. If, for example, I sit still - without following anything in particular as required by some instructions, such as zazen - all these books are completely irrelevant.
Eben!
What interests me most is what the term enlightenment is all about. What is it about which so much is written or spoken? Do I already know that without knowing it? Why is there so much fuss about it? Does enlightenment exist at all?

Truth isn’t about knowing things; you already know too much. It’s about unknowing.
