Re: MS- Absence of Self

Hi Manish If there no 'I found, then who ultimately will acquire skills . Your question (again) assumes that there is a 'who'. You tell me . . . in the thought 'I am going to acquire a new skill' . . . what does the word 'I' point to? Can that one be found in the immediate experience here and now? o...

Re: Guided Self Inquiry

Many of the questions you are asking are beyond the scope of seeing 'no self' and the guidance via LU. I will try to address them a little to assist you. This is most likely due to "me" battling with depression and anxiety for a long period of time . That's also why it was so easy to relate with the...

Re: MS- Absence of Self

Does this means that all the choices are made without any chooser ? To a certain way of thinking, yes. You did suggest that 'there is no chooser' is only an idea about what is happening . . . and that the only thing you can establish was that a hand and arm moved. So maybe a little more explanation...

Re: Nara's chat

We can continue - Will you be able to stick to the guidelines as described or is there a problem? If you are unable to identify what you current beliefs are about yourself with any degree of certainty, then guidance cannot start. I am truly grateful for your time as I do feel different, more aware a...

Re: Nara's chat

Hi Nara If you remember, you agreed to the following point: > Please try to reply at least once per day - This maintains a momentum in the guiding which is important. If you know you won't be able to reply for a few days, just let me know beforehand - It's Ok. Guidance 'proper' hasn't started yet, a...

Re: Hello

Just to clarify question three.

3) Does the cup appear 'at a distance' from a particular point (where 'seeing' appears to be being done from)?

Re: seeing clearly

Hi again Pema Welcome back - I hope you enjoyed your trip to Nepal. You mentioned that you had studied the emptiness teachings - What did this involve? Did you get anything out of it? Did they address the emptiness of the self / wrong-view of self? I take it, that it was a Buddhist group? These prac...

Re: MS- Absence of Self

Frankly, I am slightly confused as to what made the choice the and what moved the hand voluntarily. I could not find it. Good. And you've stepped ahead, but it's not a problem. 1) What made that choice? Could you FIND a chooser? 2) Can you find an 'I' choosing? Can you find a body choosing? 3) Ther...

Re: Guided Self Inquiry

How confident are you of the realisation?
How do you feel?
Is there any confusion in any areas, or do you have questions at this point?

Re: Grateful for this opportunity to get some help

Hi Jazul24 Welcome to LU - My name is Xain, and I am a guide here. I am looking for a guide to help me fully see through the illusion of a self which I still hold on to. I'd prefer someone who is familiar with Reggie Ray's teachings on somatic meditation and with buddhist teachings. Sounds like you ...

Re: Guided Self Inquiry

the "I" is not the brain. It is a thought formed in the brain. Whilst I would agree that medical science holds this opinion, and I would not argue that it is wrong . . . is it anything more than speculation? Notice - This is still a subtle clinging to a belief that 'there is something separate here...

Re: Hello

It is only in the sense that I assume to be quite normal when a meditator realises that the inner monologue is not controlled Ah - I understand - That's fine. It's just that you said it 'wasn't you' - That's something different. That would suggest, rather than 'not controlled', 'controlled, but by ...

Re: MS- Absence of Self

Nothing else can be found in the experience. However, thoughts do arise after few moments. That's OK - We will address thoughts later on. It is just seamless experience. Someone that is experiencing is not found. Good. Hopefully you realise that the only 'I' there is, is one that arises in the cont...

Right here. Where I am. In my head. How are you determining that consciousness is inside the head? Which sense or senses are you using? The container is consciousness. The perspective from where everything is experienced. How do you know? The container (consciousness) in in my head, behind my eyes....

Re: MS- Absence of Self

Hi Manish Sorry, your post dropped off my radar - Sorry for the delay. With the eyes closed,I cannot find a separate witness. As with other experiences, after few moments thoughts starts to arise and interprets the experience. Great! Now I usually leave the senses of smell and taste out since they a...
