Re: Ready!

Have a little break and look at this video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vJG698U2Mvo Have a look at this and count. :-) Nice. I saw the gorilla, but not until it reached the middle of the screen - but I was sort of primed to expect something odd - lost count of the passes at that point. Take all...

Re: Ready!

Question everything for half an hour. Whenever something turns up, check if it is merely an assumption or is based on something. I think I need to do a bit more on this, but what strikes me so far... stuff which has never been questioned. They are so familiar, normal that they almost slip under the...

Re: Ready!

Almost wasn't able to write! Found a bird video and my cat was completely transfixed - I was just enjoying watching her. Investigate how this idea is built up, mantained and how exactly the "almost felt" works. It's less solid now, so harder to look at. I think the 'almost felt' is a subtle emotion ...

Re: Ready!

you only can get as close to something then the word allows, it will always be a bit dissatisfactory. Yes - getting into tricky territory. Can seeing be stopped? Hearing? Feeling? Is there a beginning and end to it? No, it can't be stopped. I need to look more at when there is absence of e.g. sound...

Re: Ready!

You say you figured the witness out. What exactly did you figure out. Well, I understood that 'awareness' is not separate from the object of awareness... But I spent some time looking closer at this today. I've heard a lot of guided meditations say 'be aware of awareness itself'. So I had a really ...

Re: Ready!

No one who hears or feels. Interesting eh. And yet, most of the time one thinks/assumes/feels-as-if there is 'someone' experiencing - albeit passively, not as a 'do-er'. Is it habitual? Is it wrong labelling/assumptions about conscious experiencing? The assumption that if experiencing is happening,...

Re: Ready!

Is there any difference between hearing and the heard? Is there someone hearing? The sound of running water (the shower) is heard. Memory/recognition happens - the sound is identified/labelled by thoughts - this happens very quickly, so fast it's hard to see a gap. Without thoughts, there is just h...

Re: Ready!

Is the body acting or is simply action happening? I see/hear/feel stuff happening. There is no way to know if there is a cause for the stuff happening, just from looking. However, because I'm so used to thinking that 'I' am in charge, there is a slight eerie feeling seeing the body moving, stuff ha...

Re: Ready!

If thoughts could be around but no one listens? Just for a moment
It's like watching them from a distance. A feeling of detachment. And if doing something practical at the time it is like observing the body acting by itself.

Re: Ready!

What about intention? What exactly is intention? Play around with it. I'm not talking about the sort of future intention that people often talk about - e.g. 'set an intention to be kinder this week'. I used the word to talk about perhaps the gap between apparent 'choice' and action - so, like 'choi...

Re: Ready!

Hurrah - I'm starting to feel less poorly, finally! Seeking, for me, is an active process, often combined with a yearning, seeking something out, being on the look out for something. Curiosity is a kind of openess, an allowing of what appears in life, coming to think of it, for me joy and curiosity ...

Re: Ready!

Thank you so much for your continued help :-) I've started jotting down things that come up - doubt, experiences, my understanding of things at the moment - will continue this through the day, and write up what I find, and questions, tomorrow... In the meantime... Would you say that seeking stopped?...

Re: Ready!

About you having gated - what would you say? On balance, probably yes. There are times when I'm 100%, then times when I get caught up in story and so on and have doubting thoughts, or am just too wrapped up in life-ing, but I think I'm past the tipping point. When you asked if there were any other ...

Re: Ready!

How about All that appears and is is ok? Hmmm. So, when I had those really strong experiences of connectedness / no separation, then at the time and for a while afterwards I was very calm, very at peace, and absolutely everything was ok. The mundane was even beautiful. I would say that at the momen...

Re: Ready!

This extra level of ill is sure not pleasant and threat to finacial existence isn't any fun either, but it is a good chance to really look again and to take time into account. There is this moment, thoughts make up a possible future, just assumptions, they don't know. Yes, good point. Worked with t...
