Re: individual self, universal self, no self?

But the question is: How true is it for you what thoughts suggest? What a wonderful question. I would like it to be on my mind always. „How true is this thought I just had? How about the next“... I guess always is not possible and also not nessecary... But it is a good idea to look, everytime the q...

Re: individual self, universal self, no self?

You got me. No, there is no one who can get lost in thought - it just seems like that. It is just another thought (including the „I“ thought). Being lost in thought is exactly this! Taking thought for real... So, how does this „being lost in thought“ look like? It looks like a thought telling „me“,...

Re: individual self, universal self, no self?

Yes, absolutely. There is just what is happening - which includes thought and also the "I" thought. When we follow thought we can get lost in endless worlds of imagination. When we perceive through our senses, we see a constantly changing world. Is this true? If there is no „I“, is there really som...

Re: individual self, universal self, no self?

Finally, I would like to say that I have no idea if I went through the gate. I think (^^) that I saw the difference between thought and reality but I‘m still confusing them at times. :-D This is very normally... Decades of conditioning don't vanish over night. Therefore it is even after seeing thro...

Re: Basic Experience

Hi :) I would like to assist you with exploring the concept of the separate self. My role is to point by using exercises and questions. At the beginning a few explanations: This is not a "normal dialogue". Essentially, it's about asking you questions and assigning tasks and you answering them from y...

Re: individual self, universal self, no self?

Final questions? I'm curious - it's probably not about who we are, where we're coming from, where we're go to? ;-D LOL :)) Your're right it's not about these questions... It's more about to see that there are no answers to these questions and if there is something that wants to be looked at... ;) H...

Re: individual self, universal self, no self?

Regarding the "stream entry" - I still know very well who I am (or who I am supposed to be) - but I see that all of this identity is made of "thought stuff". Behind this veil everything is open, flowing, changing Lovely... :) What do you want? Do you want to stop our investigation at this point? Wo...

Re: individual self, universal self, no self?

Wow, so beautiful... :) It's everytime so awesome when seeing happens... <3 I don‘t know, I feel like having arrived at the end of a journey and at the same time at the beginning. Yes, absolutely... That's the way it is... :) Seeing that there is no separate "I" is called the stream entry in buddhis...

Re: individual self, universal self, no self?

Great job! If you have written out of your experience, then you've very clearly seen the difference between thoughts/imaginations/words to reality. How are you with these insights? Please make these comparisons as often it comes in mind during the day... Can you see that this difference is the case ...

Re: individual self, universal self, no self?

That thought - to believe in that thought - has been learned at early age. It is very fundamental, like an integral, indispensable part of our worldview. Yes, it is deep conditioning. And maybe there was a time when it was necessary - just a surviving mechanism but does not stand up to a precise co...

Re: individual self, universal self, no self?

There is always perceiving, can you see this? There is only perception - except when there is not (which means that I am dead or in deep sleep). Could there ever be the experience of the absence of perceiving? Can you know if „dead“ really exist? Thinking about topics we could never know seemt to b...

Re: individual self, universal self, no self?

No, thoughts are not needed to feel joy or pain. Before thought joy and pain are without name, like any other experience. Thought is just labelling the experience (which is useful for communication). This is what I mean when I say „In DE there are no things“. Ah, ok I understand what you've meant.....
