Re: A new guide wanted
Hi Seamist, thanks you for picking this up and being willing to 'give it a try'. I am sorry about the speed of my reply I haven't been checking the site, I'd rather lazily been waiting for an email notification, then I've been away for the weekend visiting a friend who had been paying more attention...

A new guide wanted
Hi there, it has been a while since I was on the forum. I managed a guided event by Xian. The guiding came to an end with a sense that Xian was getting frustrated with my lack of 'progress' or even engagement (didn't agree with this bit). However, I would like to see if I could find anyone else will...

Re: Nara's chat
Wow heavy. Sorry you feel this way. I've engaged and tried to communicate as much as you will,as it were, allow. Whenever I try and explain my experience in any detail I am, maybe rightly, chastened for thinking too much about it. I am at a loss how to tell you things without conceptualising which s...

Re: Nara's chat
1) What do you find in the experience of doing the exercise (seeing, hearing, smell, taste and touch).[/quote Hi Xian, thanks for the understanding. As to the above quote my answer would be the same as when we were looking at experience through the senses, i.e. just the perceptual content. As to th...

Re: Nara's chat
A full weekend and I haven't had time to consider what you have written. I just wanted to let you know that I will have more time tomorrow.

Re: Nara's chat
Whereabouts did you find this in your experience when choosing? Or is this simply an idea? Not that I found it in my experience I was just trying to understand what was involved in doing the task you suggested. Ok, a choice was made. What made the choice? In all honesty I don't really know which is...

Re: Nara's chat
Describe the process as it appears to you. What did you find making the choice? The process was initiated by your suggestion so there is some intentionality. After that though there was just choice happening, decisions being made without a decider needing to be there. Unless 'self' is so fast that ...

Re: Nara's chat
There seems to be just choice and then something happens, my hand moves1) In choosing the hand, what was FOUND that made the choice?
2) In raising the hand in the air, what was FOUND that made that happen? (Causing the muscles to contract, and the arm and hand move up).

Re: Nara's chat
You mention 'interaction'. Where are you finding this 'interaction'? It is really when the visual sense is being used. Sight, sort of, locating sensation in a perceived physical form. What we are examinining at the moment is the belief that there is a body at the centre of experience, that is respo...

Re: Nara's chat
Or do the mental images make it appear like it is the body doing the feeling? Or something else? It is the effect of mental images. 1) Right now there is 'the current experience'. Using the senses, can anything else be found other than 'the current experience'? No just the, as you say, 'current exp...

Re: Nara's chat
1) How many things do you find? I mean, are there two things (and hand and a desk) or is there one thing - A sensation. 3) Do you find an 'I', a body, a hand 'feeling' . . . or is there just 'a sensation'? There is just sensation. Although I can still choose to interpret the sensation being generat...

Re: Nara's chat
1) In 'Hearing' can anything be found other than 'What can be heard'? No, same as with seeing. 2) Can an 'I', a pair of ears or a body be found performing a function called 'hearing'? Or is there just 'what can be heard'? There is just what is heard. 'I am hearing' 'Ears are hearing' 'Body is heari...

Re: Nara's chat
Go to your experience. How exactly is it known here and now that eyes are perceiving? Do you witness them perceiving? With what sense do you witness that eyes are perceiving? This is difficult. I cannot really find what is perceiving the eyes Perhaps you can see a reflection or mirror image of eyes ...

Re: Nara's chat
Yes there are a pair of eyes in the process of sense perception, windows on to the world and all that, but they cannot be 'seen'.That is what I am asking about. What do you mean here?
Are there a pair of eyes in what can be seen?
If not, what is this 'sense of some eyes' you are referring to?

Re: Nara's chat
Where are 'eyes'? I don't want you to THINK what is going on, I want you to report from the sense of seeing and tell me. I don't seem to be able to answer that question. I am not sure what the ' ' does to eyes in this context. As you look out of the front window, how are you sensing 'eyes' exactly?...
